Sun in Sagittarius II - Kore the Maiden

 The Sun enters Sagittairus II, "The Bridle" today at 6:43 pm EST. The Greeks thought of this as the time of Kore, when the maiden goddess entered the underworld a second time, to become Hades' bride and take up the mantle and crown as Persephone, Queen of All Below. Some myths regard the relationship as one born of trickery and rape; others see her descent as a reprieve from a controlling mother and a life of joyless duty; still others see it as the start of an essential part of the circle of life and the norms of human culture: that sometimes we must let the darkness overshadow us, in order to be the light coming into the world.
