Sagittarius III, as we've discussed in the past, is the season of Anangke "the goddess of the gods" who defines and designates all that simply must happen. As Necessity, she watches over all events that simply must occur whether the gods wish them to or not.  Largely not worshipped by ordinary mortals, she nonetheless points to the idea that larger realities must sometimes simply be accepted for what they are and how they act upon us.  Some events, no matter how catastrophic or blessed, or even out of the gods' hands.

Sagittarius II covers 2
-12 December 2023 — the season of Kore, the girl-goddess sent to be Hades' bride in the underworld. When she returns in the spring, she's Persephone, powerful and frightening. What part of yourself is still afraid of the dark?

The Sun enters Sagittarius I — the realm of the Loimos, or sickness-spirits — on 22 November 2023 at 9:03 am EST, just as Americans head off on travel to their largest civic holiday weekend.

Are you adequately protected on planes, trains, and automobiles? How about dealing with "Aunt Fran" at the dinner table?

Leto the mother of Artemis and Apollo rules the next ten days. In the Hellenistic era, she was honored as the teacher of the young, bringing them up in the right way to be honorable and capable adults... https://andrewbwatt.com/2023/11/01/sun-in-scorpio-ii-2nov-12-nov-2023/

The Sun enters Scorpio I - The Jawbone - at 12:21 pm EDT on 23 October 2023 - the realm of the nymphai, the spirits of natural places which resonate with femme vibes. We're supposed to learn new craft, new artisanry, new skill, from our observations of such places — Austin Coppock called this part of the sky The Jawbone, while T. Susan Chang called it Storm of Tears.... are you approaching the world as a scientist would? How about as an artist? How does disappointment re-inspire you to try again?

The Sun enters Libra II tomorrow morning at 7:30 am EDT. Called "Two links of a chain" and associated with the Greek mythical figure of Kairos, a god of Opportunity... it's a great time for you to link together both hope and action toward your goals. Be cautious with Saturn and Mars moving toward a trine on October 12, and the eclipse on October 14 — you've got work to do? Don't delay.

Hephaestus rules the next ten days, beginning at 9:51 pm EDT tonight 22 July 2023.  *The Spotlight* is a place of both performance, and performance anxiety.  Are you ready to be the focus of everyone's attention? Are you ready to try to beat your last personal-best performance?  It's a challenging tightrope to walk, and all eyes are on you.  How will you measure up?

 https://andrewbwatt.com/2023/06/10/sun-in-gemini-iii-praxidike/

Praxidike, a terrifying goddess of punishment and redress of grievance, ruled the next ten days of the calendar of Greco-Egyptian Alexandria — her name literally meaning "the practicer of justice", she presided at trials of capital punishment and extracted vengeance in both the mortal and divine realms. At Thebes in Boeotia and elsewhere, her hand was stayed in mystery cult pantomimes only by Castor and Pollux the Dioscuri, who came with swift wings to assist mortals in accidental peril but who spurned the intentional and malicious criminal. Have you committed accidental wrongs for which you may atone? Does anything lurk in you that is truly unforgivable?

The Sun enters Taurus III The Prayer Beads today at 6:21 pm EDT, on 10 May 2023.

The ancient Greeks called this the realm of the Litai — a class of spirits that are the prayers of mortals, released from the bonds of matter by speech and song, litany and hymn, petition and thanksgiving, oblation and offering, libation and sacrifice. It’s a place where aesthetics and object meet spiritual contemplation, and where soul transforms matter into psychic nourishment. Sometimes all
we can do is wait and pray, and make beauty out of our patience.

The Sun enters Aries III "The burning rose" today at 11:15 pm EDT. Administered by Venus, it was considered the realm of her son Eros the god of desire. The tale of Eros' marriage in darkness to Psyche, her discovery of the truth, and her arduous quest to regain his affection remains one of the strangest yet compelling myths.
What do you long for, that you have never seen? What have you still wanted, once you got it? What would you fight to regain again if it was lost?

The Sun enters Aries today, and with it Aries I — "The Double Bladed Axe", the realm of Aidoneus, whose name means "the hidden one".  Hades is better described as a title, in the same way that "Harry and Meghan" are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — but Aidoneus is his name.  The fire of Aries is in a sense, the Fire Below being rekindled: the earth responding to the approaching Sun's warmth and light with new heat of its own.  What is below the ground, can rise above it; what is dead, can be reborn.

Thanks to an enthusiastic friend who paid me through Ko-Fi instead of Patreon, the horoscopes for Aquarius II (Phobos) are made public to a wider audience this time around. You can find both horoscopes and the full column at this address! Thank you Wren!

Phobos was the ancient Greek god of panic on the battlefield. Shown as a strong man with a lion's head, he was less to be worshipped than propitiated ... through practice and training. You could not escape his clutches once the conflict started and the battle was joined — your only hope lay in what you had learned to do in the gymnasium and on the stadium grounds or on the fields of Mars just outside a city's walls.  May we be free of the influence of Phobos in the next ten days and the next year, and remain safe by virtue of our training and practice.
