Sun in Leo III — Serapis / The Banner

 The Sun enters Leo III The Banner, tomorrow 12 August 2023 at 7:30 pm EDT. 

 

Today, Serapis is often thought of as a god of abundance and the underworld — a divine amalgamation of Greek Zeus and Hades, and Egyptian Osiris and Apis.  We should remember he came to prominence as part of the Ptolemaic Dynasty's political strategy to maintain their power as the foreign-born rulers of an ancient civilization to convey a message: Abundance is the reward for obedience.
