first, thanks for all you do here in providing these columns.

Over the years you have provided an abundance of historical context and fascinating lore -- enough for a book (that you may have already published, or is in the works?)

All that I'd suggest is: aim for brevity, a bit of distillation will make your writing here a more concentrated value for your audience.
