The Sun arrives in Virgo III tomorrow morning 12 September 2021 at 9:20 am EDT.  The ancient Greeks of Alexandria in Egypt regarded this as the start of a festival of Hestia, the goddess of the hearth of Olympus — and in a sense, the keeper of the entire 'household of mortals', the human realm that is neither field and garden (belonging to Demeter) nor the private innermost rooms devoted to the mysteries of sex, pregnancy, birth, and death (which belonged to Hera).  Everything else belonged to Hestia: homestyle kitchen and roadhouse diner, the bistro on the square and café on the side street.  Wherever food, men, women, and life intersect, there Hestia's interests are well represented, and the goddess watches over mundane activities: the discussion of politics and economics, the actual work and labor that makes politics and economics possible, and the social order that lets men and women interact in ways that have nothing to do with sex and sexuality.   It's an important role and time, where the individual dies — but society as a whole touches on eternity.
